Imaging Is Diagnostic, Not Routine
We take X-rays when they add real diagnostic value — risk-based cadence rather than calendar reflex. When they are taken, you are shown the result immediately and walked through what it means for each quadrant. Compared to film, digital sensors need far less energy to form the image — meaning lower radiation per picture. And the image appears instantly so there are no retakes or chemical developer waits. We use it measurably rather than ritually: each one taken has a question it answers, whether that is cavity detect, bone level, or root tip status. Every sensor image also becomes part of your charting record — tooth charts we annotate alongside so when you come back the following year, both are compared pixel-side-by-pixel. Decay progression is visible: which is also why we only retake when there is diagnostic purpose, not team-collect reflex.
